April Cat of the Month

Bedtime.

April Favourites

April has gone by SO quickly.  Here were my favourites!

SkincareInnisfree - Eco Safety Aqua Sun Gel SPF 30 PA++
source: https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuL_gFQgzMlISTC566xwBoWfhH3URDB0g7dXrkIbh4Wnx7VO0o9LLk7jsDYJqxkOuzcWZqlQ5JwYeeP2oGoB4aR_j9UtOEo-VWOlOkYveqISncphR7ftpbkw0iRPiAowBbLIWB60U_Ey0/s1600/photo.JPG

I bought this on my trip to Korea this winter and have finally opened it to start using it!  IT IS AMAZING (I have to go back to get more).  It is nice and light and does not feel like it is clogging anything (also no strong sunscreen smell).  I have not broken out from this (yet).  To be honest, I have no idea if it is working or not though, but hopefully it does!

Makeup: Benefit - The Big Easy Liquid to Powder SPF 35 Foundation
source:http://www.sephora.com/productimages/sku/s1580943-main-hero.jpg

Clearly summer is starting to come and I am obsessing about sun protection.  I LOVE THIS.  At first I was super worried that it would show dry patches.  It doesn't! (except once... but then I exfoliated and moisturized.)  It matches your skin tone (I am 'medium') and it makes your skin feel SO SO SO SO SOOOOO good.  You definitely need to try it out.  (stop by a sephora and get a sample if you are scared your skin will break out!)

I will most definitely be bringing this one to Europe :)

Don't know what to say... just... check it out! :)

Honestly, April was my worst month ever but I was glad to know that God has a plan for me!  I want to live the life He has planned for me and I have come to learn that these are all building blocks for it...sometimes you have to trip and fall to know where to look for the cracks along the sidewalk.

Clothing: Blondo - Diva in Brown
source: http://a2.zassets.com/images/z/2/3/5/2/9/6/2352960-p-LARGE_SEARCH.jpg

So you may think it's a bit too warm to be wearing boots.  I THINK NOT!  I love these. Firstly it is waterproof (which makes the leather so much easier to maintain) and brown makes it a possibility to wear this in the summer!

NTS: BUY MORE BLONDOS NEXT WINTER...and check out summer collection.

Other:
This month I am going to skip on food but tell you my favourite...

... thing to do to relax!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVED retail therapy and going with a friend or two.  (not too many) .  THEN GET FOOD! <3

Manicure Monday (times two)

(left: BFF right: Eiffel Tower)

I recently dropped by Indigo just to do some retail therapy and picked up these two nail polishes.  One of them I got them for $2.10!! (regular price 8.50).

It took about 2 coats total to get the colour in the bottle (one for Eiffel Tower, but 2 for consistency).

The brand is called coco&lulu by Cake.  It is a 3 Free nail polish!  Take a look below:

The Eiffel Tower has a bit more stay power but I strongly recommend a top coat with these.  I put BFF on my toes and it didn't require any as it was nice and glossy and did not chip.

On the other hand, with it on my finger nails...  it was a nice glossy finish but it chipped quite quickly!

Make sure you drop by Chapters/Indigo to check it out!

Thoughtfully yours,
C.C.

March Cat of the Month

http://iheartcatgifs.tumblr.com/

March Favourites

Well, before we even realized it we are at the end of March!  Which means... EUROPPPEEE SOOOONNNN!!! Any way, back to my favourites this month!

SkincareThe Face Shop -  Clean Face Spot Corrector
source: http://www.uphinh.vn/image/stream/1027370.jpg

So last month I showed you guys another "The Face Shop" product.  This one is used for afterwards.  It clears up some acne scars, I sometimes use it on my smaller acne spots as there is still some tea tree oil in it.  It's FANTASTIC.  I like it :)

MakeupMaybelline - One by One Volum'express Waterproof

One of my favourite mascaras (used in EASY EYES) is Benefit's They're Real mascara.  There are two things I would change about it though: the price and lack of waterproofness.  This one has it all, I got it on sale for $4 AND it's waterproof.  I love that it separates my lashes and it holds my curl (probably cause it is waterproof).  I do miss the bristles at the top that They're Real has though!

Comment below if you want a side-by-side comparison of the two!!

Game:

Okay, so I haven't done this before but it's sorta fun to share what I have been wasting my time with.  I'm sure you've heard of this game (2048) before.

One of my friends coded a 5x5 version which is easier to beat (comment if you would like the link) and also I've seen the DIY selfie ones.  I also saw one of my friends post a chinese version which helps you review your history of china (probably doesn't help that I can't read it or remember it).

Feel free to comment below to show your successfulness in the game!

This past month I've been hearing a lot of bad news in a sense.  I think this is a good one to keep in a pocket.  Just because somebody says it doesn't always mean that it is true, but sometimes it adds a bit of insight into your life.

Yes. Last month I put up another jacket.  But as the weather is getting warmer (and wetter) I find myself grabbing for this bright WATERPROOF JACKET!  This will definitely be well used in europe too :)

Food: 닭도리탕 - DakDoRiTang - (Korean) Spicy Chicken Stew
source: http://www.seoulgarden32.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/DAKDORITANG.jpg

So I discovered this Korean stew this month when I went to the Korean restaurant with my friend. IT IS THE BEST THING EVER.  It's spicy AND sweet, CHICKEN and POTATOES YUM YUM YUM.  Have this stew with some rice and everything will be right in the world.  I like mine a bit sweeter as to spicy, but the spicy is what gives it a kick.

YOU GOTTA TRY THIS!

C.C.'s Christmas and New Year Adventure: Part 1 -- Toronto Pearson

Let's start at the beginning of my adventures...

The night before I left I had some wonderful times with my family (I LOVE THEM) but as a procrastinator... I did not pack yet.  You'd think, 2 week trip...maybe pack, but I didn't.

I finally got home and started doing a bit of packing, I don't totally remember what I was packing so I guess I'm not going to do a "how to travel light" guide but overall I only packed a few things. So let's go with the following things:
- leggings
- 1 pair of jeans
- knit/cashmere sweater
- cardigan
- a lot of tank tops
- undergarments
- hoodie
- scarves
- socks
- boots (wore these on the plane)
- flats
- makeup/skincare shtuff
- headbands
- belts
- I wore a watch, necklace and a ring onboard with me...so that wasn't really packed

I just packed a lot of things.

When I was about to leave it was the crazy ice storm of 2013, the day I flew out was the day it started.  My power went out, but PTL I was almost all packed by then and my phone was relatively charged so I could sleep and let the alarm do it's work.

I woke up and got a text notification telling me my departure time was EARLIER than scheduled, I thought that was so weird.  I left the house bright and early in the morning and my dad dropped me off at the terminal.

I went to check in at the self-serve kiosks (my mom told me to check in online but I said no because I knew they had these kiosks there), then for some odd reason it said it didn't work (should've listened to mom).  I had to stand in the super super long line that at the end of the day... we had to get called out of the line to check in because they almost ran out of time (almost shut down check in time because it was so close to departure).

I got there 2 hours before my departure time, or was it 3.... I don't remember, either way for domestic you are supposed to be checked in an hour before.  It was silly.  UGH.  On the bright side I met a nice couple flying to Vancouver while in line.

When I finally arrived at the kiosk the lady tells me I was already checked in and only needed baggage check out.  (WHY!!!!!??? TECHNOLOGY FAILS ME!?) On the bright side I did not have to worry about check in closing since I was already checked-in.  As I finally left that area, waved good bye to the couple,  I started heading towards security.  (The old couple were so nice and ensured that I got to check in at the kiosk first since they knew I had a connecting flight, sidenote: I wasn't that worried about the connecting flight because I was pretty sure the YYZ --> YVR plane is the plane that flies YVR --> HKG, I was right.)

When I got to security I was freaking out about the gate closing (cause that was how close I was to departure time) and they tell me that everybody is on the same boat so that there was no way for me to move ahead.  At that time I met two other youngens like myself both having connecting flights (1 to HKG and the other to PEK).  The 3 of us instantly bonded and finally got through security and BOOKED IT to the gate.

Of course it was the furthest gate possible when we were running late.  We were actually running through terminal 1, I wonder what people were thinking about us.  Halfway running there I gave up as did the other girl, the guy was still running for his life.  We figured if half the plane is still in check in they probably shouldn't take off considering the implications it would have on their company.

We got to the gate and then I sat down and got ready... in the end the flight was delayed because of the deicing that needed to be done.

To be continued in Vancouver...

Thoughtfully yours,
C.C.

February Favourites

I CANNOT BELIEVE I FORGOT TO POST THIS IN FEBRUARY! (give me a little credit that it was a short month?...okay I guess not) Also... I'm posting this while I should be sleeping... or writing papers since they are all due this week! See how much I love you... or how much I love to procrastinate.

Skincare: The Face Shop -  Clear Away Spot
source : http://www.sasa.com/shop/pimage/10034/106240112001n.jpg

So this is similar to a few other products I heard of before... the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion ... I bought this when I got a chance to head home for reading week and it seems to be working.  It's pretty cool cause it basically seems to be a calamine lotion and acne treatment.  You don't shake it as you can see with the "DO NOT SHAKE!". You simply dip your q-tip into the solution and put it on your acne.

I would suggest you to use this overnight.

Makeup: Bobbi Brown - Touch Up Stick
source: http://www.beautezine.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Bobbi-Brown-Touch-Up-Stick.jpg
As the weather is getting warmer I have started to stop using my tinted moisturizer... probably also because I am getting lazier (okay, mainly because I left it in my apartment but when I went home I totally forgot... so I needed something to work in it's place!)

This is great and creamy!  I love it :)

Other:  This category keeps changing... I've decided to leave it blank this time. (I think the next time it might be drama/TV show since I've started going crazy again!

Clothing: Canada Goose Jacket - Kensington Parka
source: http://www.canada-goose.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/2506L_Black.jpg

Okay... it definitely is getting warmer but there were a few days when it randomly dropped to FREEZINGness... right before it got warm for a week... then froze again.  This jacket has gotten me through these cold cold winters and these long walks.  YES, it's a lot for a jacket and there are alternatives... but this is actually super warm.

I think I got this 3 years ago, still keeps me warm to date :) (It better!)

Food: Bird's Nest Soup
source: http://img.ksl.com/slc/2509/250918/25091879.jpg

This is probably the most interesting thing to add here.  It is a delicacy in China and I like it made with rock sugar.  Bird's nest is basically spit...... but it's supposedly very nourishing and good for your skin.

I honestly think this may just be my list of most expensive favourites up to date... but February just sorta happened I guess ;) As with February, let's just keep this list short!

Thoughtfully yours,
C.C.

Valentine

Valentine's Day is here once again! Call it what you will (ie: single awareness day) but, it's a good day to show someone you care- even if that someone is you. Self love!

Note the cute cards below:

Also chocolate sales post-Valentine's Day don't hurt...

Aside:
I think self appreciation is very important, and we live in a society where you're considered vain or conceited if you choose to recognize that in yourself. It's more than ok to have positive feelings about yourself and your abilities. Feeling good about yourself gives you the confidence you need in order to achieve things you may not be able to do otherwise. Your good mood and positivity will also rub off on other people. Happy=Healthy!

Do you have any Valentine's plans? I will spending my V-day at home with family (and my kitties), eating good food and probably watching movies.

Thoughtfully yours,
Addie

Lazy Fashion: Keeping it Classy

Keeping it Classy

Keeping it Classy by enteen featuring an infinity ring

So Valentine's Day is coming up (February 14th for those of you who were unaware) and some of you have dates.  Some of you have work.  Some of you don't give a care in the world what day it is.  I am in all three.  Of course I have a date... a date with work... and that doesn't matter what day it is (St. Patty's, Valentines, New Years Eve).

The outfit above is simple, yet classy.  A nice blouse wit ha pair of dark jeggings and a grey cardigan.  Accessories pull it all together, a simple pearl necklace and a simple silver ring with a nice pair of knee high boots :).

So for those you who do care...or have an actual valentines date.  Consider making this your outfit instead of those cut up pieces of fabric that somehow classify as clothing, or that super short skirt that is totally not weather appropriate.

Let me know how it goes :)

Thoughtfully Yours,
C.C.

Thoughtful Thursdays: C.S. Lewis

Since most of January went by without a thoughtful quote, we figured we'd start them back off with a pretty big quote (with pictures that go along with it!, see below)

“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket — safe, dark, motionless, airless — it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. The alternative to tragedy, or at least to the risk of tragedy, is damnation. The only place outside of Heaven where you can be perfectly safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love is Hell.”
-C.S. Lewis

2014...Year of Love?

Wow.  No kidding.  Yes.  February is the the month of love... but has anybody ever heard of 2014 as the year of love.

2+0= 2 and 1+4= 14 (okay it equals 5...but the whole point is people are pushing this), so 02/14 = February 14th, which is valentines day? Some sorta of logic.

Well since it's February, it's only natural to bring this up.  To start, my cousin is getting married... then I have a few friends talking about marriage.  I actually had a friend show me the ring that her boyfriend will be proposing to her with because they have talked about getting engaged this year and married next year (she's my age.)

The funniest thing was when I asked to hang out with my cousins, we only found one weekend free and it was the 14th and 15th, so obviously I ask who is free then.  One is busy the 15th and the other messages me being like "I will probably be busy the 14th... at least I hope so." (context: she has a boyfriend).  My other cousin messages back with a smile and a heart while I am confused because I am thinking well why would you want her to not be able to hang out with us, so obviously I reply with "Why?"  Just for her to retaliate with "It's Valentines day."

No. I am not being bitter It's so crazy how many of these things are happening.  Being in the 20-somethings category means so many friends being married etc. (I'm pretty sure that being a christian has to do with it)  It is SO SO SO exciting, but SO SO SO scary at the same time.

It's exciting because it is a new and exciting part of my friends'/cousins' lives but also my life! It's that time when all of the weddings are happening.  It's also so scary for me because it really makes me ask the question of what about me?  Being single is great, don't get me wrong, I do really really really really enjoy it and am not desperate to get into a relationship or anything but at the same time it makes me ask what do I want to do with my life, will I find love etc. blah blah blah blah.

So I decided that I will LOVE this year, my choice is to LOVE God, to LOVE others and LOVE myself.  Is it pushing it, maybe?

I have totally imagined my life being actually "forever alone" but I have also discovered that I wouldn't be alone because I would be serving God.  I want to live for Him and Him alone and not for a 'man'.  Until I find someone who will serve with me together I can not imagine my life any other way.

But heck, let's be real I still want that ring WITH the band....p.s. this one would be nice too (and also marriage isn't all about just the wedding and the ring... though it's nice :D )
source: source:http://media.tiffany.com/is/image/Tiffany/22808672+22613782_tf_ml_R1?$EngagementItemL$&defaultImage=NoImageAvailable&&

So for now, while I don't have that "ring", I have this one...
source:http://media.tiffany.com/is/image/Tiffany/27999301_350742_ED_M?$EcomItemL$&op_usm=2.5,1,6&defaultImage=NoImageAvailable&&

Though I do not wear this on my ring finger... I wear this on my index finger.  It reminds me consistently of the infinite love of God and how He loved ME FIRST.  It is a sort of promise ring to myself.  My friend made fun of me when I told them I kept feeling my finger for my ring when I didn't have it on, she called me a 'divorced woman'.  I thought about it for a bit and realized when I don't have God in my life... I truly am lost.

So this Valentine's Day (Singles Awareness day)/February/2014, think of the greatest love story of all.

1 John 4:19 We love because He first loved us. (ESV)

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (ESV)

Colossians 3:14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. (ESV)

So this year, I will embrace this year of love and choose to live a life of LOVE.  Loving Jesus, Loving Others, Loving myself. (JOY: Jesus, Others, You).  And I will obey God's commandments because I LOVE HIM.

Sometimes people ask me about christianity.  It is a relationship.  I have a relationship with Jesus Christ.  I love Him. He loves me.  He put me first, and I want to do the same thing.  I know that if I don't follow him/listen to him (same as my parents) it will hurt them, because the things that He set out for me are for my own good because HE LOVED ME FIRST.  So... if you love somebody... would you want to do things to hurt them?

Sorry for the long post, but this is because this is sorta kinda the GREATEST LOVE STORY OF ALL...except here we are caught up in a whole other world of what media and culture now define love.

So .... some food for thought :)

Until next time.

Thoughtfully yours,
C.C.
